Tinea
in Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton

Also commonly referred to as Athletes Foot, tinea is a general term used to describe a fungal infection affecting the skin.

Fungal infections can affect many areas of the body including the scalp, groin, genitals and the feet just to name a few.

A fungal infection of the foot is termed "tinea pedis" or athletes foot. Podcare.com has designed a web page devoted specifically to this common foot problem.

This condition of the feet frequently causes cracking or splitting of the skin often between the smaller toes and can be annoyingly itchy. Redness is sometimes present, but fortunately the problem is usually quite easy to manage.

Some people appear to be more prone to certain conditions. This is certainly the case with tinea or athletes foot as ongoing management is often required to prevent recurrence of this fungal infection.

Special Tip...
When treating athletes foot/tinea it is very important to not only treat the infection, but you must also prevent reinfection.
