Cold Foot Complaints
in Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton

If you have a cold foot or cold feet, you need to have your feet assessed as soon as possible.

Many problems can cause cold feet. If you have a single cold foot then this needs to be checked by your doctor.

This may indicate poor circulation, peripheral vascular disease, poor blood supply or other possible systemic diseases may be present such as diabetes or deep vein thrombosis.

Foot problems such as gangrene still exist today as a result of poor blood supply. Cold feet could be the first sign of more serious foot problems which is why early assessment is crucial.

Your doctor will generally assess skin temperature, skin colour, your pulses in your feet including your dosalis pedis and posterior tibial pulses.

Further tests can be carried out if necessary which may include a doppler ultrasound study and sometimes an angiogram. An angiogram is a special x-ray of blood vessels to help determine whether any pathology or disease of the blood vessels exists.

If any problems exist your podiatrist or doctor can advise you on what is required.
