GET RID OF YOUR UNWANTED HAIR FOREVER! Permanent Hair Removal – Safe, Effective, Affordable!

Are you tired of shaving and waxing that annoying hair on your upper lip or face? Do you have self esteem issues due to your hairy back and chest? Do you have allergic reaction towards depilatory creams? Do you get ingrown hairs on your bikini line? Do you want to have smooth, hairless legs? Do you want to wake up and not  worry if you have shaved your underarms?

If you have answered YES to any of the above questions, we have a perfect solution for you. ORTHOMED Clinic offers permanent hair removal by IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology. To provide you with more information on the risks and benefits of procedure, we have  nterviewed a professional hair removal specialist.

Q: Can you tell us more about IPL technology? What is IPL? What makes it different from other methods of hair removal on the market?
A: Excess facial or body hair can be a nuisance or even a nightmare for both women and men. Depilatories, shaving, waxing and electrolysis are common solutions, however, the discomfort associated with ingrown hairs and increased pigmentation are too high a price to pay for temporarily smooth skin. Until recently, removing hair was uncomfortable, inconvenient, expensive and time-consuming. But that has all changed. Today, with the remarkable advances in IPL technology, unwanted hair is being removed painlessly, safely and affordably, with excellent results and lack of side-effects. Intense pulsed light ( IPL ) equipment utilizes xenon-filled flash lamps as primary light source. Essentially, we are using flashes of light to remove hair.

Q: How does IPL remove hair?
A: Highly controlled flashes of light are  absorbed by hair roots (follicles) lying below the surface of the skin. This high-energy light travels down the hair shaft and disables the hair root. The absorbed light heats the hair, which damages or destroys the re-growth potential of the hair root, without damaging the surrounding tissue.

Q: I have dark skin, how can I determine if this treatment is right for me?
A: Unlike laser, IPL is capable of treating any color of hair on any skin type. T the treatment is safe and effective for dark skin tones; however it is best to do treatments with minimal sun exposure. Hence, fall, winter and spring are the best seasons to start the treatments. I would recommend booking a FREE consultation before the treatment. Our trained professionals will evaluate you to determine if you are a good candidate.

Q: Does hair color has influence on IPL hair removal?
A: Dark hair absorbs more light energy and is easier to treat. Coarse dark hair responds  best to IPL treatment. Light hair is slightly more difficult to treat, it might take more sessions to achieve the desired results.

Q: What areas can be treated?
A: Any area, except adjacent to the eye, where there is excess hair. The most common areas requested are the face, upper lip, neck, chest, periareolar, underarms, back, abdomen, bikini line, and legs.

Q: How often do I come for the treatment?
A: The treatment is performed once a month. Since we follow a cycle of hair growth, at least three treatments must be performed. The good news is that there is no down time after the procedure and you will see results after the first treatment.

Q: Do I need to grow the hair out before my consultation / treatment?
A: No, in fact we ask that you do shave the area you want treated. We’re actually targeting the anatomical structures below the skin. Surface hair interferes with this process.

Q: Do I have to stop waxing/bleaching / tweezing / using depilatories, etc?
A: It’s best if you stop waxing because we work with hair roots, once waxed, the hair root is physically removed from the skin and we have no structures left to work with.

Q: Can I be treated while taking medications?
A: The only medications that are prohibited for IPL hair removal are Accutane and Retin-A, which must be discontinued  6 months prior to treatment.

Q: I’m pregnant / planning on becoming pregnant. Can I still be treated?
A: While there is no evidence to suggest that pregnant women cannot be treated safely, it is our policy not to treat without written permission of the patient’s physician.

Q: What does the treatment feel like? Is it painful?
A: No, the treatment is not painful. Each pulse of light feels like a slight sting or pinch. No local anesthesia is required and most people tolerate the treatment well.

Q: Are these treatments FDA approved? Are they safe?
A: Yes, MediLux IPL System is FDA-cleared for the treatment of unwanted hair. The procedures have unparalleled safety records. Side effects are rare and generally well-tolerated.

Q: Are there any possible side effects?
A: Side effects are rare. You may experience some slight reddening or local swelling at the treatment site, but this typically goes away within hours. Limiting sun exposure before and after each treatment will minimize the risk of complications. During the free consultation our practitioner will provide you with  before and after treatment instructions.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to add for our readers?
A: Yes, please always deal with professionals when it comes to hair removal, keep in mind that if the technician is not trained or has no biological background, you can end up with a nasty burn on your skin. Also, always take advantage of the FREE consultation, it will help you to understand the treatment and will aid in determining if you are a good candidate
for it.

I am of Asian background so facial hair was always an issue, I mean sideburns is so not a good look. After years of using creams my sensitive skin has had enough and , I unfortunately, have pigmentation marks as a result. I have gone through the 5 sessions of permanent hair removal at the ORTHOMED Clinic and I am very happy with the results.
The staff at the clinic was very knowledgeable and friendly,  everything was explained to me. I have started to see results from the first treatment, now I have 90% less hair on my face. My skin feels smooth, it makes me very confident and my husband likes it too. I am planning to do my underarms and bikini this winter. I wish I had heard about this treatment years ago. You have given me hope, THANK-YOU. Keep up the good work.                                                                                                                                    Anisha, 26

I must tell you, I was so hairy that if it weren’t for the nipples you’d confuse my front with my back. Somebody says it is sexy – that’s wrong. Back hair is not chest hair, as well as shoulder hair and neck hair – none of it is attractive. Have you ever tried to shave or, even  worse, to wax your chest? Believe me, it is really painful, annoying and time-consuming
procedure. Not only will you suffer from the itchiness of re-growing hair but also a stubbly chest looks ridiculous, and probably doesn’t feel too nice to the girlfriend. Hopefully, I’ve found relief. Several treatments at the ORTHOMED Clinic helped me and now I can to spend all of my time with my girlfriend!                                                                Deepak, 32
